Hey guys. My name is Katie, and I am a 33 year old unashamed Disneyphile. DisNerd. Disney freak. I love all things Disney (except Dumbo – seriously, I can’t stand it). When I am not at Disney, I am planning my next Disney trip… and when I am at Disney, I am simultaneously enjoying the heck out of life and planning my next Disney trip. I’m talented like that…
I’m happily married, 7 years now. I love my husband, even more than I love Disney, but please don’t make me prove it. Thankfully, he loves me enough to not make me prove it. He recently sent me a screenshot of a shirt that read “I work to support my wife’s Disney addiction” with the caption “I need this” and all I could do is laugh. It is true! He isn’t a Disney fanatic like the rest of us, but he’s never asked me to stop going to Disney. AND he lets me pick his outfits when we’re down there. If that isn’t true love, I don’t know what is.
I’m mommy to two awesome little boys. For the purposes of the blog let’s just call them Big J and Little J. Big J is 14, a freshman in high school, and already planning to attend Disney College when he graduates. Little J is 6 with personality for days (see pictures), in first grade, and he has not thought out his entire future like Big J. He does however ask (weekly), “Is Bubby going to work for Disney now?” Not yet, honey. Not yet.
We joined DVC in June 2011 (fun fact: Heather, myself, and my mom all signed up at the same time!). It was a complete game changer for me. Having our hotel essentially already paid off for the next 50ish years lets me really focus on getting all the dining and extras that we want included… like swimming with the fishies at Epcot (we have not done this yet but it is on my Disney bucket list) or eating at all the Big Money restaurants around.
Heather talked me into the whole running craze. She had been running for a while, alone, and I guess she wanted company, or she thought I was being lazy, or whatever… she nagged at me to join her. I refused, repeatedly, until she said the magic words: Run!Disney! That’s right, whole races at Disney. I was sold. Started running that week to prepare for the 2013 Tower of Terror. I’m kind of a runDisney nut now – I’m even training for my first Dopey challenge! It is just one more thing Disney does that makes me love them!
So, that’s me. I’m a Disney nut, and I’m looking forward to sharing my Disney love and knowledge with you! And hopefully along the way you guys can teach me some stuff too!
