Hey guys. My name is Katie, and I am a 33 year old unashamed Disneyphile. DisNerd. Disney freak. I love all things Disney (except Dumbo – seriously, I can’t stand it). When I’m not at Disney, I am planning my next Disney trip(s)… and when I am at Disney, I am simultaneously enjoying the heck out of life and still planning my next Disney trip. I’m talented like that…
I’m happily married, 7 years now. I love my husband, even more than I love Disney, but please don’t make me prove it. Thankfully, he loves me enough to not make me prove it. He recently sent me a screenshot of a shirt that read “I work to support my wife’s Disney addiction” with the caption “I need this” and all I could do is laugh. It is true! He isn’t a Disney fanatic like the rest of us, but he’s never asked me to stop going to Disney. AND he lets me pick his outfits when we’re down there. If that isn’t true love, I don’t know what is.
I’m mommy to two awesome little boys. For the purposes of the blog let’s just call them Big J and Little J. Big J is 15, a sophomore in high school, and already planning to attend Disney College when he graduates. Little J is 7 with personality for days (see pictures), in second grade, and he has not thought out his entire future like Big J. He does however ask (weekly), “Is Bubby going to work for Disney now?” Not yet, honey. Not yet.
We joined DVC in June 2011. It was a complete game changer for me. Having our hotel essentially already paid off for the next 50ish years lets me really focus on getting all the dining and extras that we want included… like swimming with the fishies at Epcot (we have not done this yet but it is on my Disney bucket list) or eating at all the Big Money restaurants around.
I am a total runDisney addict. I’ve done all sorts of races from virtual races to tiny local 5Ks to half marathons out in various states, and nothing compares to a runDisney event. Every mile really is magic! I’ve done two 5Ks, two 10Ks, one 10 miler, two half marathons (it would have been three, but there was that darned canceled half in 2017), and just over half of a marathon at Walt Disney World. I did the Glass Slipper challenge in 2015 and in 2018 I took on the Dopey challenge (which you can read about here)! RunDisney is just one more thing Disney does that makes me love them!
So, that’s me. I’m a Disney nut, and I’m looking forward to sharing my Disney love and knowledge with you! And hopefully along the way you guys can teach me some stuff too!
