I love this place, it reminds me of Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France pavilion at Epcot. It’s a very busy little shop in Disney Springs Town Center. It offers too many beautiful cakes and delicacies to mention, as well as crepes, sandwiches, wines and wine slushes.
Now, here is where I admit to you that it was on my list to visit and review, but when I got there I forgot the very specific reason I was there in the first place. The wine slushes. I was mesmerized by the many options in the dessert case. I ended up choosing the “Be My Valentine” which was made of strawberry mousse with a Champagne gelée Feuilletine crunch and strawberry pâté de fruit. It was beautiful, it was delicious, I ate it all more quickly than I’d like to admit. I could mention that I hadn’t really eaten all day, and was starving when I got there and this was my first stop… but, I can’t even apologize. It was magnificent.
I was further distracted by the Banfi Rosa Regale Sparkling Red wine on the menu. I discovered this when doing the wine passport in Epcot a couple years ago, and it has been one of my favorite wines since. I love the sweet bubbly fun of it. So… while my plan was to review the wine slushes, I totally forgot all about them until I had already bought my selections and then could not be troubled with what I forgot, I was too busy enjoying what I had in front of me!
Beyond what I had, I had a fabulous time watching the cast members make the beautiful cakes and pastries. The signature item at Amorette’s is the Mickey cake, and they did NOT disappoint. They were a feast for the eyes! I was tempted to add one of these to my order, but I knew I had a full night of trying new things and reviewing, so I stopped while I was ahead, but they were truly works of art.
Definitely an A+ for Amorette’s, and maybe next time I’ll remember why I was there and try the wine slushes!
